Upcoming Events: October

Dear Parents:

A few things happening in 4LB:

We've enjoyed our forest walks with the Botanist and "Sharing the Planet", a look at Biodiversity, is well underway.  Students are researching projects on a Biome they have chosen.

We have finished the first Module of Eureka Math and will be having a test over the concepts in this unit on Thursday, October 15.  I have sent home math folders to review.

Students have all completed and published at least one Personal Narrative Piece and we are beginning our next writing unit--writing Feature Articles.

Halloween - An old tradition at AAS is an old-fashioned Halloween Celebration.  Most kids choose to wear costumes to school that day (October 23rd) and we have a special assembly and classroom parties.  Please no weapons on the costumes.  Room parents may be contacting you to help with snacks.

Other Spirit Days (dress up days in Elementary)  that are happening this year:

November 6   -   Book Character Day (dress as your favorite book character)
December 4   -    Pajama Day (wear your pajamas--slippers and teddy bears welcome!)
January 29    -     Twin Day (pick a partner or two and dress alike)
March 11       -    Crazy Hair day (just like it sounds)
April 1          -     Future Career Day  (dress as what you want to be when you grow up)
May 20        -      Inside Out Day  (your guess is as good as mine--wear your clothes inside out?)

A well-earned Fall Break is coming up in two weeks --October 24-31.  I hope your family will have an enjoyable break.  One lucky family will get to have our class mascot, "Funky Monkey" traveling with you at this time.  Please treat him like one of the family and show him a good time.  ; )
